Our History
How it All Began
For over 25 years, CB Cares Educational Foundation strived to be a developmental compass for young people, families and the community. In 1996, the organization elected to commence its outreach by forming the 'teen task force,' an initiative that spawned many successful youth action committees and conceived a plan to raise funds to build the teen center at the CB Family YMCA (now YMCA of Bucks & Hunterdon Counties).
Impact
These inaugural achievements developed into several youth and family programs including the Youth 2 Community (Y2C) Music & Art Series, the Boomerang Awards, and the Backpack Newsflash. CB Cares EF impacted thousands of students and awarded more than $25,000 in scholarships, received more than 10,000 Boomerang nominations, and awarded more than $100,000 in Innovative Learning Grants that have directly impacted the 12 schools and 38,000 families in the Central Bucks School District.
The New Frontier
We now march on into a new frontier as BC Cares Educational Foundation. We recognize that in these evolving times, there is a need more than ever to provide a compassionate voice and a supportive hand to our community. For these reasons, we are working to expand our reach to all of Bucks County at large, bringing along with us the programs that have given young people the acknowledgement and commendation they so deserve.
